LADY HAYES POSTER

This is a poster I worked on for myself actually. I was playing a show with another group with a similar name, called Lady Bird. Since the names were so similar I wanted to put them in different fonts. This can be tricky, because having too many fonts can look messy, but I really like the way this turned out.

WESTERN DREAMS

I did this project as a promotion for the Toronto based photographer, Chris Gordaneer. He did a series on Cowboys that I was inspired by. The design above is being printed as a belt buckle in pewter, and the belt strap will be a 32 inch long printed piece of paper, double sided. I will be attached the two pieces together. I thought this was super cool. I really like that the belt is paper instead of leather. Once printed, I'll post the final.

POSTERS

I love working on posters, especially for musicians. Typically you have oodles of freedom and the turnover is super quick, which is great for me because I really like working fast.

SPICE SNOWBOARD DESIGNS

I used to snowboard when I was a teenager. Well, at least I thought I could. I think it was more about looking cool on the hills and trying to find where all the cute boys were. haha. When I was asked to design for Spice, I was pretty excited. Especially when they told me the target market was 13-16 year old girls. I based these designs on something that I would have died to ride as a youngster.

STEVE STRONGMAN / BLUES IN COLOUR

Steve Strongman is such an amazing guitar player and singer. I was really excited to work on this one so I turned it over pretty quickly. Steve was a dream to work with. Matt did the photography for this as well. I LOVE the inside photo and really wanted to use it for the cover. After a quick chat with Steve, I realized he was after something more modern, so I went with it and I think it turned out really clean and cool.

EDDIE ORSO HE SAID/ SHE SAID

I worked on this for Eddie at the beginning of this year. I really tried to visually push the He Said She Said dialogue that Eddie carries throughout the album. I really fell in love with this project. When I'm excited about something, I'll work on it like a maniac until its done. My favourite part is the lyric side of the poster. I love how it all comes screaming out of the mouth.

KD LANG ALBUM ART

This is a 25th anniversary edition for one of kd langs 1984 releases. I was commissioned to do this by her previous Canadian Label. I was handed a huge box of old photos, negatives, show posters, vinyl, and promo to work with. It was pretty sweet to dig through it all. My client wanted to make sure that is felt the same as the original release. I solved this by cutting out elements from the vinyl and arranging them all on white. It turned out really cool.
